The 2018 “Building Bridges: Eastern Iowa Assistive Technology Conference” will provide an opportunity to see first-hand the latest in assistive technologies (AT), practices, and services for school-age students with disabilities. This AT conference will serve as a unique opportunity for professionals, parents, administrators and service providers to exchange and gather information on the current status and assistive technology tools available for consideration.

Have you ever felt like you're simply 'putting out fires' when it comes to the provision of accessible technologies and materials? The days of using a squirt gun can be a not-so-distant memory. Join Rose Hays and Maggie Pickett with the Cedar Rapids Community School District as they set the 1:1 system a-BLAZE and structured a systemic implementation to the provision of accessible technologies and materials. This dynamic team will share their journey, to date, as well as the researched based tools they used to HEAT up the process. They also hope to ellaborate on the district's next steps to ensuring Every Learner: Future Ready. Don't forget to bring your water and a fan—things are getting HOT!
